Prof. Dr. Mirza D. Kusrini is a distinguished professor at IPB University, specializing in Ecology and Wildlife Management. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Aquatic Resources Management from the IPB Fisheries Faculty in 1988, followed by a Master's degree in Environmental Resources Management from the IPB Postgraduate Faculty in 1997. In 2006, she earned her doctoral degree from James Cook University, Australia, focusing on the conservation implications of frog harvesting in Indonesia. During her undergraduate years, Mirza, affectionately known as Miki, participated in adventurous activities, including the 1987 International Operation Raleigh expedition in Manusela National Park, Moluccas, documented in the book "Bukan Carita Parlente: Kisah Operasi Raleigh 10F di Taman Nasional Manusela, Maluku." Prof. Kusrini's research centers on amphibian and reptile conservation in tropical forests, exploring aspects such as trade and human-wildlife conflicts. She co-founded the Indonesian Herpetology Association and initiated the citizen science project GO ARK to enhance data collection on amphibians and reptiles in Indonesia. Mirza is actively involved in the IUCN's Species Survival Commission, serving on its amphibian specialist group and Steering Committee since 2008. She currently co-chairs the Indonesia Species Specialist Group.
